The Scoop on Skagway Temperatures and Daylight

The treasured viewing of the Aurora Borealis is but one of the many beautiful aspects of living in Skagway.  I captured this show on September 3, 2022 as it pulsed over our heads for about twenty minutes.  These light shows are truly amazing to watch.  Life comes to a standstill as we stop to watch the movement across the night sky.

Breathtaking Beauty

The Northern Lights are more likely to be visible on clear nights between the end of August and the middle of April.  I don't think this will ever get old.

Even with the abundance of interesting things to seek out...

I often only need to look out my window to see the magnificent beauty of Alaskan wildlife.

It's a lot of fun

Guinness World Record

The Fourth of July celebration in Skagway is off the charts-but it is in the record book-The Guinness Book of World Records that is. On July 4, 2008, a total of 1,422 people paired up to toss 711 raw eggs to each other in hopes of catching them.  Messy and fun, with lots of ooohhs and aaahhs, this event (click here for video) takes place each year on our country's birthday. The entire day is packed full of fun events for young and old alike.  It's Americana at its best!
